Recent photos

A friend told me that to get a handle on your cameras manual adjustment, just grab your camera and spend some time only taking photos in manual.  So I did that last Thursday while Kaitlyn was at the Science Centre on a field trip.  These are some of the best photos, adjusted using Photoshop.
I need some feedback on which photos you like and why - could you leave a comment?

Enjoy!

Smile!

This is a sweet digital stamp from Pink Cat Studios.  I thought she was soooo cute!  I wanted to use her on a card that could be given for any occasion.  I coloured her with my Copics, the cardstock is from DCWV, Martha Stewart heart border punch, and Prima flowers.  The ribbon is from Michaels and I am not sure where the "Smile!" rub-on came from.

Enjoy!

Panda Love

This is another Pink Cat Studio digital stamp - I love her stamps!!!
Cardstock is from DCWV Sweet stack, the heart border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch, ribbon and Valentine wish are from Michaels.  I coloured the panda with my Copics, the heart with my red Spica pen and used diamond glaze to make the heart "pop".

Thanks for looking!

Cake Pops

Well.  I finally did it.  I have been wanting to try to make Cake Pops a-la-Bakerella for a long time now.
I had planned to have these made to sell at the Christmas Bake Sale, but the cookies I made took up all my time.
These were for Kaitlyn's Pre-K class as they had their Valentine Party today.  Both parents and children liked them a lot.My husband said "I think this is the best thing I have ever eaten!"
I won't go into specifics on how they are made as the instructions and different theme ideas are all on Bakerella's site.
I picked up a basket and some floral foam at Michaels, then using my Pink Cows cutter, cut thin strips of valentine coloured cardstock.  I then crimped the cardstock using my paper crimper, and curled some using scissors (same as curling ribbon).  This was placed over the floral foam - then I placed each cake pop into the foam.  Each cake pop was covered with plastic and tied with decorative ribbon.

Pre-K Class Valentine's Cards

I didn't want to make JUST little Valentine cards for Kaitlyn's class, so I made little matchbook notebooks instead.
For the girls cards, I coloured some Penny Black stamps with my Copics and Spica pens, and used Diamond Glaze on the hearts.  The heart edging was done using a Martha Stewart punch.
I arranged some clear alphabet stamps to say From Kaitlyn on the inside label of all the cards.
For the boys cards, I coloured a Pink Cat Studio digital stamp with my Copics.  I used my wire thing-a-ma-jig and made wire antennas for the robots.
Wait until you see what I made her Pre-K class to munch on - stay tuned!!

Mer Ian from The Greeting Farm

The Greeting Farm recently had a CHA Relay Contest.  Basically, if you wanted to enter, you downloaded the first digital image (Mer Ian) and submitted a card by a certain time the next day.  If you made it that far, you were then emailed another digital stamp.....and so on.  If you did not submit your card in time, the relay was over for you.  They had a lot of technical issues with the site as they received more interest than expected.  I did not get mine submitted because of the issues.  That's ok though, because I am pretty happy with this card and how it turned out.  In the end, they closed the contest early as their servers kept jamming up with all the entries!  They posted the last days digital stamp free to everyone as thanks for our patience and understanding.
Most of the stamps at The Greeting Farm are not my style, but I have to say that I really like Mer Ian!  What do you think?
I used orange Bazill cardstock and DCWV Tahiti Beach Paper Stack.  I coloured Mer Ian differently on each card using my Copics and my Spica pens (one of these days I will remember to write down which colours I used!) I used Diamond Glaze on his tail as I love the colour that shines out from the Spica pens.  I added two tiny brown accent pearls from Kaiser Craft to his necklace.

Copic Advanced Class

My husband bought me a gift card at Christmas specifically be used towards the Copic Advanced Class at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  We got to try the Copic airbrush system and colour a flower for one of the cards.
I really enjoyed doing the card of the boy and his dog.  These cards are not my usual style, but I did add my own touches to the supplies we were given.

Love Cats

I found another great digital stamp company! Wink Wink Ink! The cats are a digital stamp called Love Cats, but using the magic of Make The Cut, I was able to cut out the silhouette on my Cricut. The sunset behind the cats is from another favourite place of mine - Pioneer Woman. She has several BEAUTIFUL high-res photos you can download.
I created my own "fence" by simply embossing straight lines on the cardstock using my Score-Pal, then using black chalk to make the "boards" stand out.
